Then the extraction is suspended with another oil such as MCT oil. One of the benefits of tinctures is that they are versatile. They can be used sublingually, put into food, beverages or capsules, or even used topically. By holding the tincture under your tongue for 30 seconds, it is more rapidly absorbed by the blood vessels in your mouth, and the purpose of this is to bypass your liver so that the onset rate is faster than an edible.
